During the visit, representatives of the charitable organisation Relief Coordination Centre outlined the facilities provided for people following evacuation, including temporary accommodation, shelters, a children’s room and measures to ensure that services are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The delegation was also shown how the centre’s operations are coordinated and its readiness to respond should the number of evacuees increase.

Particular attention was paid to an alternative site for accommodating the population, which could be utilised in the event of a mass evacuation.

Representatives of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and relevant civil protection agencies also joined the visit.

It was symbolic that the tour of the centre took place on the very day that the Lozivska community came under attack from Shahed-type drones. This once again underlines the importance of a functioning evacuation infrastructure and the readiness of communities to swiftly receive people forced to leave their homes due to security threats.

Following the visit, Oleksii Ryabikin highlighted the importance of the transit centre’s work and thanked the team for their daily support of evacuees and for ensuring suitable conditions for their temporary stay.
