The RCC Charitable Organisation presented Ukraine’s experience at an international conference held on 24–26 August in Dubai, UAE

DIHAD is an international platform bringing together representatives of governments, UN agencies, international and civil society organisations, charitable foundations, academic institutions and the business sector. Participants from various countries came together to exchange experiences, present practical solutions and identify future directions for the development of humanitarian work.

Over the course of three days, participants discussed how to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian response and ensure the timely delivery of aid to people affected by war and emergencies. Particular attention was paid to digitalisation and data management, cutting-edge technologies, the development of partnerships, resource mobilisation, and strengthening emergency preparedness and community resilience.
During the conference, the team from the ‘KGC’ Charitable Organisation also held a series of working meetings, notably with Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates; representatives of the UAE Aid Agency; Khaled Al-Attar, Director of the DIHAD Sustainable Organisation; Jamie Mann, Director of ICVA, as well as leaders of non-governmental organisations from various countries around the world. The parties discussed opportunities for further cooperation and support for humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine.

Representatives of the ‘KGC’ Charitable Organisation presented Ukraine’s experience and the digital solutions the organisation is developing for the humanitarian sector, in particular the BRIDGE platform. These tools help to bring humanitarian partners together, organise large volumes of data, identify the current needs of communities, improve the coordination of aid and make more effective use of available resources.

At the same time, they drew the international community’s attention to the critical needs of Ukraine’s frontline regions, in particular the need for armoured vehicles to ensure the safe evacuation of people and specialised transport for the evacuation of people with reduced mobility.

Ukraine’s experience and the real needs of communities living under wartime conditions on a daily basis are still under-represented in international humanitarian forums. This is precisely why it is important to strengthen Ukraine’s presence in the global dialogue, to systematically address current challenges and to propose its own solutions that have already proven their effectiveness in practice.
