Humanitarian demining as the foundation for recovery: an inter-regional forum was held in Dnipro

That is why, on 9 and 10 July 2026, the Charitable Organisation ‘Coordination Humanitarian Centre’, in partnership with INTERSOS (Italy) and with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), organised an inter-regional forum entitled ‘Developing Humanitarian Demining and Strengthening Mine Action Programmes in Ukrainian Communities’.

The forum brought together representatives from government bodies, international organisations, donors and the expert community. Participants discussed how to strengthen cooperation between communities and international organisations, accelerate the clearance of explosive hazards from affected areas, introduce digital technologies in the field of humanitarian demining, and expand training for specialists working directly in contaminated areas.

Holding such events helps to coordinate efforts among all stakeholders in the sector, find joint solutions and draw on the international expertise needed to accelerate humanitarian demining and improve the safety of the Ukrainian population.
