On 22 June, representatives of the WASH Cluster visited the Kharkiv transit centre and discussed the coordination of aid for people evacuated from dangerous areas.
Representatives of the charitable organisation “Relief Coordination Centre visited the Kharkiv Transit Centre together with the WASH Cluster’s National Coordinator, Damian Seal, and the Eastern Sub-national Co-Lead, Anastasia Kutserubova.
The aim of the visit was to familiarise themselves with the centre’s operations, assess the conditions for receiving evacuees and discuss the further coordination of humanitarian support.
During the visit, the delegation inspected the accommodation, sanitary facilities and the infrastructure ensuring an uninterrupted supply of water and heating.
Particular attention was paid to the living conditions of evacuees and the centre’s capacity to meet basic needs amidst ongoing humanitarian challenges.
Separately, the meeting participants discussed the coordination of efforts by humanitarian organisations providing support to evacuees, available resources and priority needs for the next phase of the response.
Such visits help to strengthen cooperation between partners and ensure timely support for people who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war.
